Notes on double-face wool
Two cloths woven as one, so a coat needs no lining at all.

Double-face wool is two layers woven together on the loom. Split the edges by hand and fold them in, and you get a coat that is finished inside and out with no lining.
Ours comes from a mill near Biella that has been weaving it for three generations. It weighs 620 grams a metre and wears softer every winter.
