We painted one wall the colour of wet sand and refused to move. Every look in AW26 was shot within three metres of it, in the same north light, over four days.

A plain wall does something a location never can: it lets the cloth carry the picture. Camel reads as camel, tobacco as tobacco, and nothing competes with the cut.
